VBS Thank you!
Many, many thanks for helping us make Hometown Nazareth VBS a wonderful week of fun and fellowship for all who attended!   Everyone involved seemed to love our journey to Nazareth.  Visiting Mary’s house was a highlight where stories of Jesus were heard, the Marketplace was a bustling center of creating, snacking and learning.  Tribes enjoyed many outdoor games and activities. They also got to stop by the Barnyard to meet a horse, donkey, rabbits and chickens. Celebration was an amazing time of praise and worship to our Lord and Savior. The Bible points for the week were: Jesus had a family… Jesus had a name… Jesus had a home…Jesus went to church… Jesus served others… with the response being, we do too!  The fact that Jesus was more than “just the kid next door” was stressed during the week and in our theme song “God With Us.”  The song talks about how when Jesus was on this earth he had and did a lot of the same things we do today, but “he gave up heaven to be here, and he was God with us.”  We were able to share with 185 different children that Jesus is truly God’s Son, “he knows the things that we go through…Jesus is with us.”  God is active in our everyday lives…we just have to learn to look.  Once again, God Sightings were shared each night.  Here are a few:  God helped us come here for VBS from Korea/saw two birds helping each other/He makes our heartbeat/God made sheep, sun, grass, people, trees, sand, ocean, fish, books, playground & bus.  Thanks again to all who joined us in this Holy Land Adventure.  We could not have done it without the prayers and support of a unified church family.  The VBS theme for next summer has already been announced: Babylon-Daniel in Captivity.

We will be looking for new directors to join us starting in January, when we will begin planning for June 18-22, 2012.

Maybe we will travel to Babylon?  Please look for evaluation forms in your church mailbox, fill them out and return them to box 158 by Sunday, July 31.  We really value your input, comments and concerns received will be shared at our August meeting.  We look forward to working together again next year to share God’s love with the children of our church and community.  Please plan to join us and may all we do bring glory to God!
