A note from the Pastor
Lampeter United Methodist Church sits on the corner of Book and Village roads in Lampeter, PA. I never thought much about that other than it helped people to locate us. Then one day it struck me that "Book and Village" was not just an address, it said a lot about who we are as a congregation. We are a congregation of people striving to be faithful to the "Book," the Bible. We believe it is God's love letter to the world. The Bible tells us of our Father's love for us and for all people. We read about his Son, Jesus, who died on the cross for us, and his Holy Spirit who leads us to God through his Son. We look to God's Book for teaching, correction, guidance, and inspiration. We are also in the "village." We invite those who live around us to join with us in worshipping and serving God. We open up our building for community organizations when possible. We are here to serve our community. Our village is not just Lampeter. We are part of the "global village." We are happy to support many missionaries who go into the world to share the love of Christ. "Book and Village" is not just an address for us. It is not just "where we are." It also describes where we are going and who we are. I hope you will see as you browse through our web site that we are grounded in "the Book" while serving "the village."
