MEALS MINISTRY

How many times have you or someone you know in the congregation, lost a family member to death, or are facing a long term or emergency hospitalization or illness, or have just had a baby and thought  "if only someone could do the cooking…?"  The meals ministry is designed to meet this need.  Meals are prepared and delivered to families who encounter one of the life circumstances described above. But as the size of the congregation grows it becomes more difficult to know everyone's needs.  Therefore, as you know of a need within the Lampeter Church family please contact the Lamplighter Care Team at lampcareteam@aol.com .  Experience has taught us that it is best to notify us as soon as you become aware of a need so that we can begin to prepare to meet that need as quickly as possible.

TAPE MINISTRY

Have you missed Sunday worship because you were ill, out of town or unable to get to church?  Or was there a Sunday worship were the Holy Spirit inspired, challenged, or convicted you that you would like to experience or share in the service again?  Whatever the reason, the Lamplighter Care Team is making available a tape ministry. Cassette taped copies of the Sunday service will be available for your use and can be secured from the Welcome Center.  Tapes will indicate the date of the service and will become available the week following the service.  There is no cost for the tape, but if you are finished with the tape we ask that you return it for reuse or you have the option to keep the tape. Tapes can be mailed or delivered to anyone interested but unable pick them up at church.  To request a tape call  the church office.  Tape players can also be borrowed from the church.  Just ask for a player if needed when you call to request a tape.

SHUT-IN VISITATION

Being confined at home or to a care facility can at times be a lonely experience. One comment made over and over again by the various shut-in members of our congregation is how much they miss attending and being connected to our church family in Lampeter. A visit from someone who can show true caring and empathy as well as offer prayer and encouragement with the individual is a gift blessing unique to a church family. We have developed visitation teams to help meet this need for care and prayer.  Our teams visit; spend time listening to and pray for individual needs with those who are confined. Our goal is to extend the love of Jesus Christ and the church family to these individuals. In addition, each week a church bulletin along with a weekly devotional is sent to each shut-in through the mail. Tapes of the church services will be provided to any that are interested in receiving them.  We would encourage anyone interested in volunteering to become a member of a visitation team to contact Juanita Angelini.  If being a part of the visitation team does not work for you, but you would still like to do something to remember our shut-ins, why not drop them a line or a card as each week the name and address of a shut-in appears in the weekly bulletin.

FOOD CUPBOARD

Know that God is moving and working through this ministry; and that as you or someone you know face the challenges of life, you do so knowing that you do not need to face them alone. You are loved by your Heavenly Father who knows your every need and by His family, the church, who is willing to help you with that need.  Unlike other food banks, we have no form that needs filled out, no questionnaire that needs to be answered, no prepackaged bags of groceries where you take what you are given.  We have an open cupboard policy, but do ask that you take what you need and eat what you take.  If you would like to know more about the food cupboard, please contact Paul Davis at 464-7130.  Brochures detailing the food cupboard are available for your use or to share with others and can be found on the Welcome Center.
